Are you scared about the safety of citizens yet? Because I am. If relatives and families of law
enforcement agents are subjected to periodic exploitation and insecurity then who are we to feel.
I keep pondering, if this had occurred in one of the developed countries, would there have been a
repeat? Even if it had happened the first time, are kidnappers free to roam around and abduct people.
We all agree security is key, but it doesn’t come cheap. As it is, the economy is stressed, but do

common resources such as the police force and all security forces.

You shouldn’t see tax issues as being complex because really they aren’t. Tax justice is all about
ensuring you have a better life and a developed society. All that needs to happen is fair taxation
of multinationals and other big organizations.
You get taxed on everything. On food you eat, on water, on your meager salary, on products you
buy. You pay your share and you contribute to the development of the society so shouldn’t you
be shocked that Nigeria loses 2.9 billion Us dollars to Tax waivers every year? Because I am!
In 2015 budget for instance, Nigeria allocated 934 billion Naira of the budget to security which
is the highest of all time.

Think about the thousands of lives that have been lost to the Boko Haram sect, think about the
fear and anguish they live with on a daily basis, think about our soldiers who get killed and
injured at war front because they do not have what is needed to face the terrorists.
But we have a way out, the old no longer need to hide for fear of being kidnapped. Children no
longer have to stop going to school for fear of being killed.
We have no reason to live our lives in a perpetual state of fear, because our country has more
than enough resources. The moment we understand and accept this, we know it becomes a crime
